The Brooklyn nightclub/restaurant “started by a group of friends” has been a haven for independent musicians and artists of all types since opening its doors in 2003.

The staff is friendly and eccentric, but never pretentious. If you prefer V.I.P sections and reserved tables, this Cheers-like hangout is probably not the place for you. At Sputnik, it appears that everyone is treated the same--as patrons are just as likely to catch a live music show, as they are to have a beer and chat with a Hip Hop legend just passing through, like KRS One.

Go for the beef or veggie burger, ala "The Sputnik style," with the colossal sized onions rings. Happy hour drink specials during the week!
