Ra Ra Riot: Free Indie Pop Concert

FRIDAY

Pop On The Rocks: Ra Ra Riot, a charming indie pop outfit with no patience for trendy, murky reverb, plays a free show at the Prospect Park Bandshell. With multi-instrumentalist Delicate Steve and quirky noise poppers Buke and Gass. Expect appearances by several ukuleles and arrive early. 7 p.m.

SATURDAY

Techno Tapestry: Craig Richards, the musical director at venerable London clubland institution Fabric, headlines a BlkMarket bash in a TBA location. He'll be joined by tech-house leaning Frenchie Jennifer Cardini, local techno spinner Convextion (playing live) and BlkMarket residents Taimur & Fahad. RSVP for location details. $28 tickets here. Midnight-late.

SUNDAY

Cult Classic: If a cast including Diane Lane, Amy Madigan, Willem Dafoe and Rick Moranis doesn't convince you to see the Walter Hill pulp noir "Streets of Fire," consider its staging of a kidnapping caper as a rock opera in a "Mad Max"-style post-apocalypse. Anthology Film Archives screens the movie as part of its Hollywood Musicals of the 1970s and '80s series. $9 at the door. 2:30 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck each Friday by peeping Play's Weekend Bender.
