Lewis Black, Coco66, Chaos Cooking

Black Humor: Lewis Black is a man on the perpetual verge of a nervous breakdown. The cantankerous standup comic, recurring Daily Show correspondent and unlikely spokesman for Aruban tourism chats with blast-from-the-past newswoman Connie Chung at the 92nd Street Y. Black's caustic, gravel-voiced take on politics and, well, just about everything else (including water bottles) is well-known. Tonight, he tackles yuletide cheer as he discusses his new book, "I'm Dreaming of a Black Christmas." $29 Rush tickets available one hour before show. 8PM.

Team CoCo: Greenpoint rock club Coco66 was one of several venues shut down by the NYPD in a slew of pre-Halloween raids. After a three-week hiatus, the joint came back to life last night with the jazzy Mercry Mercy Mercy shindig. Tonight, resident DJ Insult continues the homecoming party with a "guilt and pleasure" set in the bar's front room. Free. 10PM.

Fast Food: Chaos Cooking is a "social experiment" that challenges 60 people to cook 60 recipes in four hours on a single oven. It'll cost you $5 to get in, plus the price of ingredients your dish needs for a serving size of 20. Stressed about the culinary deadline? Each participant is also required to bring two bottles of wine. It all goes down at Page Not Found, a 2,000 square foot collective with its own garden in, where else, Bushwick. RSVP margaret@chaoscooking.com for the address. 6:30PM-10:30PM.
